You Can Do It Too: It’s Not For Some People

you can do it too

I know you have believed otherwise for the longest time but let me remind you that you can do it. The time has come for you to drop the narrative that some things are meant for some people. It’s a lie from the pit of hell (well hell sounds too deep but it passes the message). Success is not just for some people and they are not doing well because they were lucky to get a manual. Do I need to also remind you that they don’t have two heads?

You have enough reasons why you of all people can’t be successful at some things. You table your fears and worries before yourself every day and remind yourself of the 10,000 ways your ideas can fail. Why this? Enough is enough my dear. I’m here to remind you of your superpower.

The blog post that went up on Monday ‘You Need To Stop Lying To Yourself’ generated a lot of conversations and one constant thing was the fact that they all said they were scared to work on their ideas because they are not sure they will succeed. Do you know one good thing? They have acknowledged their fears and that’s the beginning of their journey to freedom. Are you still justifying your reasons for living the below-average life you are currently living in? Go back and read the previous post before you continue this one.

Is this another motivational speaker?

Well feel free to call this whatever, this is not the problem here. I’m sure you have heard the line ‘you can do it’ so much that you feel its crap already. I used to feel that way too.

You know those people we call ‘aspire to perspire?’ Yea, what you feel after listening to them was the same thing I used to feel too. Immediately after the speech, we feel so much adrenaline rushing through our veins. At that point, we feel that we can crush any mountain only to go back to where we used to be after 3 days. Maybe a maximum of one week, lol.

It hit me differently when I took time out to figure out what the popular line ‘you can do it’ means.

You need to believe and then act

When you are told you can do it, it does not stop at that. You need to do more than dreaming and believing. Action confirms that you can do it. Now you see, that’s where we have been making the mistake. We just want to believe that we can do anything we set our minds to but we don’t want to act. Action is what made the difference for me.

Wondering why you then have to hear the line so much?

That’s because your mind changes everything first.

The book, change your thinking change your life by Brian Tracy made me understand that our mind is extraordinarily powerful. I got to know that our thoughts control and determine almost everything that happens to us. Your beliefs largely determine your reality.

If you want to change your performance and your results in every area of your life, you have to change your beliefs about yourself and that is where motivational speakers come in. They help you to create a self-image of yourself that you like and you love them for that. One thing you don’t just do is after they have created that self-image for you, you don’t go further to take action to bring to life the kind of person you want to be.

You now see that motivational speakers are not bad after all, lol.

What should I do next?

Reprogram your mind to believe everything you’ve read in this blog post up to this point.

I believe in you that you can do it. This is your life, you can do anything you set your mind to do. Nobody else is walking in your shoes. If you want to live life on a new level you have to set your goals, see the vision, make the plans, and take daily consistent action.

Success is not a sprint, it is a marathon. Dream big, start small but most importantly, stay consistent. Would you rather be a coward and remain confined to an average life or you can be a leader of your life and live life how you want to live it, on your terms? The choice is yours.
