When we lack clarity, we are often confused and unnecessarily stressed. The clearer you are about your goals, the easier it is for you to be consistent with the plans you have to achieve your goal. You are able to set your priorities right and align everything that you do to fit these priorities. It is important that we start the year right hence, this blog post.
That’s one mistake I made and would not like you to make. In one of my relationships, we would have arguments about me wanting to live a kind of life that the relationship was not allowing me to live. I would disagree and say things like ‘I’m living my best life with you’ but it was not all true. I lied to myself for months in a bid to keep that relationship which still ended anyway. That’s not the gist for today but it explains my lack of clarity.

What is clarity?
I’ll define clarity as knowing what you want and why you want it. You will agree with me that anyone who is serious about reaching his or her goal cannot put aside clarity. Without it, it is easy to go the wrong way, do the wrong things, and eventually get confused, stressed, and lose motivation.
Clarity helps you to understand the uniqueness of your journey and it makes sense of your hard work because you know it’s for a goal.

Power of clarity
It gives you a sense of direction
Every road will seem like the road for you when you lack clarity. The reason why you hop on just any trend and try to be like different people at different times is that you lack clarity. It is very easy for you to make wrong choices and you would not even know they are wrong choices because you are not clear about what you want.
The clearer you are about who you are and why you are here, the easier it is for you to reach your goals. It takes away confusion and leads you right where you should be.
It gives you courage
I would have said no to a lot of things if I had clarity and the same goes for you. You can make decisions and stand by them when you have clarity. It gives you the courage to say no to commitments that don’t align with your goals thereby making enough time for things that matter to your goal.
You will stop being a people-pleaser when you have clarity. It gives you the courage to say yes to the right people, networks, and opportunities that will bring you closer to your goals.
For clarity, ask yourself these 4 questions:
- Who am I? Your identity
- Why am I here? Your purpose
- Who am I serving? The audience your purpose will serve
- What should I be doing? The value you should provide for your audience
You don’t necessarily have to have your answers right away. Take your time, ponder on these questions and write your answers down as they come to you. Remember, do not push away ideas when they come to you. No dream is too big for you to achieve.

Do not spend too much time over-analyzing, or thinking that you cannot do what you dream. Once you have clarity about your goals, go ahead to set specific plans to work towards your goals. The clearer you are about your goals, the more likely you are to achieve your goals.
